Sanderson have announced their forthcoming Autumn collections of fabric and wallpaper which will be available from Fabric Gallery and Interiors. The Sanderson design team has created a collection inspired by 18th and 19th century linen and cotton prints from its archive.
For hundreds of years, English interiors have been influenced by design from the near and far East. Exotic Indian block prints from the Coromandel Coast, Chinese hand-painted silks, English wood-block prints and French toiles are among the classic designs featured in this collection which marks a subtle move back to Sanderson’s signature look of quintessential English decoration.

Caverley
Caverley is a collection of prints inspired by 18th and 19th century linen and cotton prints from the Sanderson archive. Exotic Indian block prints, Chinese hand-painted silks, English wood-block prints and French Toiles are among the classic designs marking a subtle move back to Sanderson’s signature look of quintessential English decoration. This aesthetic reflects the current trend for timeless elegance and classic style.
‘Caverley Prints’ are complemented by ‘Caverley Wallpapers’ and two weave ranges; ‘Musette’ and ‘Coralie’. These four collections are coloured in soft, coordinating palettes in leafy greens and indigo blues with hints of rose and flashes of brighter shades inspired by the original antique textiles.
Coralie
Coralie is a collection of embroideries, jacquard weaves and gingham checks that has been carefully selected to create complete decorative schemes. This collection includes fabrics suitable for both curtains and upholstery and is presented in six colour palettes of classic reds and leafy greens, fresh blues, soft mauves, eau de nil, primrose and ivory and linen.
The ‘Highlands’ and ‘Alchemy’ weave collections offer a more contemporary style with small geometrics, textures and plaids. These are accompanied by the ‘Tunis’ collection featuring soft chenille damasks.
Ione Prints
Taking inspiration from classic botanical archives, the ‘Ione’ collection combines finely drawn artwork with confident composition. Focusing on the detail of each motif and infusing them with new, exciting colours, designer Maggie Levien has created a collection reflective of the season’s interior trends; each unique design highlights Maggie's distinctive approach to stylisation, scale and colour. This collection is comprised of five fabrics printed on linen / cotton and silk, plus one 100% silk stripe. All are designed to work well in both classic homes and contemporary living spaces.
Ione Papers
To complement designer Maggie Levien’s ‘Ione’ prints, the wallpaper collection of the same name subtly plays with the same design motifs featuring strong silhouettes and accent details in metallic, opaque and pearlised inks, making them ideal both as partners for the corresponding fabrics or as stand-alone designs.
Ceres Weaves
The ‘Ceres Weaves’ are developed from three of the most popular and impressive designs from Maggie Levien’s previous collections for Sanderson; Lilia from the Pompom collection Ceres and Aerial from the Amari collection. They present new luxurious, bright and versatile options for upholstery, curtains and accessories.
Painter's Garden
This collection is a fresh mix of floral and botanical prints and embroideries that co-ordinate perfectly with the wallpaper collection of the same name. The original artwork produced by designers in the Sanderson studio were painted from life and inspired by botanical engravings and etchings. The collection has a fluid style and captures the fine detailing and range of tones in the original watercolours and inks.
The designs are printed on linen, glazed cotton and silk using a variety of techniques. The embroideries are intricate in their detailing using silky threads stitched onto soft linen fabrics. The co-ordinating A Painter's Garden wallpaper collection is bursting with pattern and colour, creating a fresh and contemporary style. A variety of print techniques, pigments and inks have been used to create diverse effects throughout the collection.
