Zoffany have launched their exciting new collection for 2010.
Look out for the following stylish collections now available from
Fabric Gallery and Interiors:
Persia Weaves:
A rich, exotic thread runs through the fabrics in Zoffany’s ‘Persia’ collection.
Textural jacquard weaves are embellished with embroidered patterns depicting
Persian scenes or are inspired by the garments of the East, with damask patterns
woven in qualities of sumptuous silk and linen. Recalling the silk routes of
Asia and the faded opulence of old palaces, the designs have been deliberately
created with worn textures to recapture the spirit of a bygone age.
Classic Damasks:
This collection revives some of Zoffany’s most famous and best loved papers,
previously only available as hand-prints. ‘Classic Damask Wallpapers’
reintroduces designs from Zoffany’s earliest collections. The designs: Oak
Garland, Pomegranate and Long Gallery, originate from ‘Temple Newsam,’ the very
first wallpaper collection produced by Zoffany, named after the early Tudor
House built around 1500 for Thomas Lord Darcy. In the 1980s, the original
Zoffany design team was commissioned to reproduce some of the fabulous and
precious wallpapers from the interior of the house.
Gustavus Wallpaper:
Zoffany has turned to the restrained classical style of eighteenth century
Sweden to influence a wallpaper collection that exudes character, elegance and
simplicity.
Zoffany and the Gustavus style share a natural affinity in their colour
palettes. Core colours of creams, whites, blues and greys are warmed with the
addition of earthy reds. The challenge for the Zoffany design studio was
replicating the quality of the natural materials inherent to Swedish
eighteenth century interiors for a contemporary market. By using modern
printing techniques and rich opaque pigments the studio has captured the
authentic textures of natural wood and rough plaster.
Mosaic Velvets:
‘Mosaic’, a collection of four cut and loop pile velvet designs, inspired by
the glamorous interiors of the 1930s with their decadent mix of geometric
patterns on furniture and ceramics, combined with luxurious velvets & animal
skins.
The velvets are woven on wire looms using a traditional weave technique
whereby the warp is woven over a wire to create a loop which can be afterwards
cut to create the velvet pile, or left as a loop. This technique is slower to
weave and more expensive than other velvet production but the resulting
contrasting textures give an extra dimension to the designs.
Mosaic Vinyls:
A contemporary collection of wide-width vinyls, Mosaic is a range of beautifully
drawn patterns overlaid with rich textures. The collection features designs
inspired by Japanese fabrics and ceramics, with graceful grasses and small scale
organic geometrics. Colours are inspired by minerals and crystals whilst rich
emboss textures have been selected to enhance the seven designs.
